ABOUT US

   BOARD OF DIRECTORS

In 2013, after finishing law school, Dr. Jessica Fitzpatrick, Esq., LMSW, had an idea: to create a new nonprofit that would serve teens and youth in Western New York. A place where young adults could come to for legal assistance, education, advocacy–and most of all, support. A place where youth could better understand their rights and then better advocate for themselves. A place where teens and youth could realize their full potential. Ultimately she wanted to create a space where youth could fully understand just how important they are, and our entire society would benefit as a result.

After months of research determining what is already available to youth, where the gaps in service are, and what is most needed, YRA created a mission statement and received 501c3 status in NYS.

YRA has big goals to ensure gaps in service are filled and the youth in WNY are informed about their rights and supported in acting on them. However, for quality assurance, we will be strategically rolling out programming, to ensure that all the services we provide are the most competent, evidenced-based, effective programming available.

We look to our community, especially youth, for feedback about our services. Please contact us with questions about receiving services, partnering with YRA, volunteering, donating, or joining our Board.
